I'll throw one out there. How about an analysis of the new DVB-S2 standard for sat comm ( I say new, I don' how new it is.). You could compare against other methods based on bandwidth efficiency, power efficiency, and implementation advantages.
The implementation part is big because of the hardware limitations that are required in space.
