Are there any other manufacturers besides ST who do flash/sram in same chip?

ST's psd chips have to small SRAM and have IO cpld I don't need...

Davorin,
I saw something like that in a CDMA mobile phone, made by samsung, look at their site. The chip is very small, 4x5mm, could't see exactly what package it is (flip-chip or some small bga), because it was embedded in transparent resin. Look at their site, maybe they have it in other "normal" packages.

Please mention how much flash and RAM you need. The Samsung chip with 4 MB flash and 512 kB SRAM is around $5 (better in high quantities). AMD also has good solutions.

We have been burnt by these chips since they seem to have very low life. We have had situations where a new design became obsolete (may be Nokia cancelled order on Samsung or something!!) in 18 months. They keep coming out with chips with more memory.

AMD has been good with the support but they are slightly more expensive. Atmel thinks they are selling a BMW car with every chip and the pricing reflects the same!

For lower density, the ST solution is the best (PSD platform) but a bit on expensive side for lower volumes. You have to work aggressively with your distributor to get decent prices from Atmel. The uPSD solution which combines the CPU and PSD is also very good.

Seems the ST solution is the only in non-BGA package...

flash/sram size 64kbyte...
