Hi,
I am very new to FPGA, I have experience in micro-controllers and electronics but not FPGA design.
I have identified this Mojo FPGA development board. See link
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1553
I thought this may be a good board to get started on FPGA design.
I would like to know if HDMI signals can be generated using FPGA ?, all I would like to do is draw some lines and write some text on the screen using HDMI. I know this will be difficult for a novice like me, however I just need to know if this is possible ? This link suggests it is possible, however they dont mention what board is being used.

How is the review for the mojo board is this suitable for beginners ?
I have also identified another board, please see link below. The 'RioRand® EP2C5T144 Altera Cyclone II FPGA Mini Development Board'
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LEMKR92/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A240XKQA2DV1DP
Between the Mojo and the RioRand which do you think is more suited for me ? I found the mojo a bit more user friendly as they have schematics and tutorials and an ISE.
thanks
