atmega32 program+ light dimmer

hi every1

how do i program the fuse bits of CKSEL?
do i have to set these fuse bits if i wanto use an external crystal?? or do i just leave them as they are?

thanks...

fuse bits are set during programming, you should find a way in the programming sw that configures the fuse bits. also if you want to use an external clock you should program the CKSEL fuse bits. also see attached file for a simple programmer, use the not buffered one it is very simple. and supported by programming sw like ponyprog or avr dude and also in the programmer found with codevision

try to use ponyprog on www.lancos.com it's a popular software. almost new avr device will use internal rc . if you want to use external crystal you must set fuse bit
