ATA controller design

Now i'm doing ATA host controller design: then power-on, hardware reset and software
have done, but when designning the PIO mode transferring data: read or write data from/to ATA DD, the number of data per sector is correct.
256 words per sector in my program is ok,however, when i simulate, the time
of data transmission is wrong.It is that the time per sector transmission is not
256*(pio transfer cycle).

help me, 3k u very much

what do u mean by time of data trnasfer.
can u explain in more details?
