Hello,

I want to design a PCB for FPGA prototyping. Please help me understand if I need to supply these voltages and why?

Vref
Vrefp
Vin

These voltages are from the Artix-7 Datasheet.
https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/data_sheets/ds181_Artix_7_Data_Sheet.pdf
I'm using the Artix - 7 236 pin BGA FPGA.
I'm only using the FPGA board I'm laying out on Altium for gigabit ethernet purpose,
no LCD screen,
no USB,
no SRAM,
no DRAM,
no memory,
no microcontroller,
no other peripherals except JTAG/SPI configuration of the FPGA.

Kindly inform what is meant by Select IO standards. Which standard should I use for gigabit ethernet?
Here is the document I referred
https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/user_guides/ug471_7Series_SelectIO.pdf

Your help is much appreciated.

Maybe this Power Methodology Guide is overkill...https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx14_7/ug786_PowerMethodology.pdf

Here is a user guide on PCB design for 7 series devices.

Look in the specific Ethernet user document for what IO standard is required.

Basically, these are my questions. If anyone knows the direct answers, please inform.

what is the importance of Vref, Vrefp and Vin?

which SelectIO standard I need to use for gigabit ethernet applications?

All the information you want can be found in those three documents, but I can't force you to read them. I'm pretty sure you're going to be waiting for a very long time until someone reads the documents for you and then tells you what you want to know.

My advice read the documents. Hint: on a PC CTRL-F in most PDF readers will bring up a search box, which you can type those terms in you are trying to understand.
