ems china to india

Hello,

I have tried many EMS companies in China for pcb manufacturing and assembly, but always we had around 40% of pcbs out of services with bad pcbs with short circuits or lines breaks. Only easy pcbs are ok, with 0.5mm lines and spacing, but with pcbs of 0.2mm, always problems...

Have you any experience about EMS in China ?? or may be do you know really good companies ??

Have a good day,

foxcom assembler ems

We have found that although pcb's from China can be good, the problem comes with batch ordering. Normally the first batch we receive is very good and no shorts. As you reorder more batches the boards becomes more of a problem. This problem comes from dust particles accumulating on negatives over time where the company stores them in files etc. They want to use the same negatives over and over to be cheap and save money. The result is that you get pcb's with shorts increasing in numbers as you order more batches. You can have the pcb's tested but that makes it very expensive. You must insist that they use fresh negatives after a few batch runs. Since we addressed this with one manufacturer, our percentage of shorts dropped to almost nothing.

problems with ems

Thanks for your explanations, but my problem was worse because even the first order of 50 boards is bad with shorts and breaks, so it's not a problem of films I suppose...
Have you a good manufacturer to suggest ??

china ems slow

I have only experiences with really big companies such as Elcoteq, Flextronics, Jabil, Solectron, Sanmina and Foxcon. They are good with products where volumes are very large. They have completely different quality levels than the "garage variety" ones, but they are also usually interested only in large volumes. Then you can get good quality and with competitive prices. If you plan large volume in the future, it might be worth contacting one of them.

We are Chinese company (not making pcb). We simply avoid using EMS. Slow and have a higher rate of lost/damage. Better use UPS/DHL instead.

I love the "Garage variety":D
I think I begin to understand my problems with pcbs assembly in China, each time I have around 500 boards to order, but may be made in a garage
In fact, what would be a large volume ?? 5000 boards or more ???

Thanks

ems company in china

Hi ,

There are several EMS companies in India who could provide you a quality & comprehensive cost effective solution. I guess you need to work with the right ones depending on the volumes you are trying to produce . Nimbeon is one of the premiere ems companies , why dont you try. www.nimbeon.com
