Can you give me an advice?

I started to read about wavelet theory, but in order to get the mathematical bases, I
had to get into mathematical terminology, like lie groups, sets, frames, homomorphism,.....among other

can anyone point me to a couple of good books to read (from the perspective of an electrical engineer) to get an idea about these topics?

problem about wavelet that if you realy want to understand whats going on there you must have a rich mathematical background. There is no simple or eassy way.

If you want to make the effort i would recomend to start with:

E.Kreyszig - Introductory Functional Analysis With Applications (Wiley ,1978)

pw: approx

you can find there some of the basic matirial you mentioned with some more advanced stuff like hilbert spaces and linear orerator which are also vital.
