Hi,

Please explain me what exactly Decap and Bypass cap and differences between these two?

Regards,
Chandra

In the layout point of view I didn't feel any difference b/w them. Some designers need to reply...if there is any difference. I don't think those two are different.

First of all let's discuss what is decap and why it is needed.
De cap means De-Coupling cap, what it do is It's just bypass or decouple the noise on the net to ground. In general we will connect this one b/w noise net and Ground. By doing like this we can bypass the noise to ground.

Upto now I used Mos-caps as De-coupling caps for most ckts. Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere. Thank you.

its really a very helpful document..thanks 4 this...
