Re: Help : 8051 with USB

Hi Nandhu,

Thanks very much for the information.

However, the websites you introduced is using serial communication. Is there any schematics using the USB port rather than serial port?

Thanks!

from which book you r studying the 8051.

i think Mazidi & Mazidi is very good book for 8051. you can have some information about the USB downloader there.

Re: Help : 8051 with USB

Hi,

Great! It seems that the book is useful.

However, since time is running short, can anyone suggest any existing modules (USB programmer for 8051) for me?

Thanks.

Help : 8051 with USB

kit_714,

you can't program a 8051 - it is maskROM based...

If you want to program an 8051-derivative, you need to state which one.

But, if you are happy with any serial-based programmer (of the type which does NOT bit-bang an SPI-like protocol using the RS232-handshake lines), you can use an ordinary USB-serial "cable", or a chip with similar functionality (such as the FTDI's FT232-series), to USB-enable such a programmer.

Honestly, you can't get anything better (read: chaper and easier to obtain) than this.
