Hi all !
I'm working on the project of Weather monitering system.
I want my microcontroller(AT89s8253) driven data logger to be connected to an LCD display. A little study I did. But not geting which LCD controller and Which disply to choose that will fulfill my requirements.
I want 4 digit LCD display, input voltage 3.3v, and at preferable cost.
Firthermore my main controller is AT89s8253.
The main thing is which simplest LCD controller should I choose for interfacing...
AT89s8253<-------->LCD controller:)?:)<------------>LCD display:)?:)

Thanks and regards,
Nikhilesh:D

You can find on Atmel application note for AVRs an example (C source code) about how to drive a seven segment LCD using general IO pins (AN241). Another way is to use a different microcontroller (ATmega169) that include a LCD driver.

Microchip, Maxim/Dallas, and Intersil all sell 7-segment LCD controllers. There are probably others. Or, use a different microcontroller with a built-in LCD controller.

SED 1565 is a graphical LCD which is a best one.

If it is a graphical controller, just buy a module(ie 16x2, 20x4, etc.), or is it a screen (like on a cell phone?) If that is the case then check out Phillips, Epson, Hitachi, etc.
