USB streaming

i'm still new to USB. can anyone tell how to make streaming using USB? I want to send a stream signal via USB to my pc in a real time with 1-5 Mbps tranfer rate. What are the things that i need to take note. Thanks in advance...Δ

Re: USB streaming

I'm no expert on the USB but I believe it has latency rates in the milliseconds and isn't really designed for real-time streaming, it's really meant for transmitting packets of data. I've heard that 48KHz USB sound devices is really pushing it. Firewire is probably more like what you're looking for. But at the time-critical data rates your talking about you might need something like a GPIB board (which at those data rates would be expensive. You should be able to download a couple of books on the USB if you do a search for it on this site.
