hi
has anybody ever managed to design a single patch microstrip antenna fed by coaxial cable in HFSS with DESIRED resonating frequency for example: 12GHz

i tested many dimensions of patch but never managed to set the frequency.

many people has designed that antenna.....
maybe if you post your model here we can help
or at least give some more details

i've tried to compare simulation results of some of desigend patch antenna from different softwares, i found HFSS rarely useful in that field , some kinda frequency offset from real model results and so on, so i skipped using HFSS for simulating of those kinda of antennas and kept it for simulation of microwave structures, till i find IE3D which is whery powerful and time-saving simulator that shows the best result like the real model one.

Hi,

I disagree with faghani about HFSS not being accurate for antenna simulation. Since it is a 3D full-wave simulator it should be the most accurate. Inaccurate results are due to incorrect setup with the airbox/radiation boundary or wrong choice of adaptive mesh and sweep combination. Take a look at this

which shows how accurate HFSS is.
