Hi, I would like to know if anybody knows what is a LDR regulator

I would like some paper about this :

- Dual-loop feedback for fast low dropout regulators
- A novel frequency compensation technique for low-voltage low-dropout regulator

Thanks by advance

Re: LDR Regulator

It may be regulator circuit based on Light Dependendent Resistor (LDR) where the light changes the resistence of LDR and corresspondingly the current and voltage across LDR changes, and so regulating property of regualtor circuit adopts.

LDR Regulator

I do not think that LDR has anything to do with a ligh dependent resistor. I think LDR is still the same good old LDO. I have seen some people from the East call it that way.

Coming to the Dual loop feedback, instead of using a Miller Capacitor, we tend to use two capacitors with one capacitor feeding back from the output stage . Since there is already a resistive division in an LDO from output to input, the capacitive division also contributes to another loop. Hence, the size of the cap shall be smaller for the compensation purposes. Also, this type of compensation is used when you are driving a high load of about 5 to 10 uF and pumping about a 500 mA current into it. This type of compensation kind of alleviates the problems of the dominant pole.

We have implemented these sort of DLF LDOs. I will also try to get the paper for you.
