hye.........
i dunno how to write a program to run a 5x7 dot matrix display,
how to initialize the row and the column, how to set the delay between each emoticon figure?
i use 8086 controller,8255 PPI and 74HC374 microprocessor to drive the dot matrix display...the program is to display three emoticons such as smiling face figure, straight face figure and sad face.is it ok to use 74HC374 or you have any other suggestions.i have to use 8086 contoller but it is not neccessary to use 74HC374..........all your cooperation is highly appreciated.tq very much....

Re: to all the experts

I think you should search in google, there are many scrolling LED display projects. The 74hc374 does not supply enough current to do what you want. Use something like a ULN2003 darlington driver IC on the cathode and a transistor on the anode
