The typical ADc sample ratios are seldom higher then 1 megaSPS.
What are the highest speeds available by now for the ADCs on-board (DSP & mPCs from different manufactures)? What type of data conversion these devices utilise?
How those high speeds of data-sampling - up to 1-2 GigaSPS are realisid in Tektronix scopes for instance?

This is my ideal: Not only the reference. There is the reference which has got two level. Medium ADC is < = 5 Msps and highspeed ADC is > 5 Msps - usually for Imaging proccesing. But It belong to you.

You should look at the Atmel 2GSPS ADC. It uses DMUX chip to split the samples into 4x500MSPS and also provide a 250 MHz clock that can be fed to a FPGA and split it down it further using DDR registers.

What does SPS stands for??

SPS-Samples Per Second
MSPS - Mega Samples Per Second
GSPS - Giga Samples Per Second
