simple boost converter

hiye everybody,

can anyone tell me how i can implement a feedback loop of a boost converter without worrying too much about stability or control system aspects ? I have tried many ways ( using different configuration of op amp ) to try to design the feedback loop but to no avail. as this is my final year project, i once consulted my lecturer about the compensation that is required ie. type 3 compensation and he told me not to worry about that. i should just make a very simple one. can anyone tell me how i can do it ? any help would really be appreciated. thank you

regards,

Does it have to be a boost converter? If it is buck converter instead, it is much easier to compensate. You might be able to do it with just one pole compensator.

If you want an example system, I suggest that you take a look at a manufacturer's website like Linear Technology. Once you pick up their example, it should be not too bad to build it. I would also look at their software tool LTspice/SwitcherCad. It is a free download and it already has examples of converters built using the models for their control ICs. I think that would be a simple way for you to get something working quickly.

V_C,

it has to be a boost converter unfortunately, because i have built the converter. i have build the feed forward circuitryand it works excellent except that it does not perform well on load regulation. sigh* so my lecturer asked me to build a feedback loop but till now .. i have no idea how to build it ... i really don't need it to perform excellent on it's response. as long as it maintains it's voltage. i am done.

the application notes which i can find in the internet is far to complicated for me for the time being as i have limited time now.
