Hi everyone,
Is there a simple method to see if an lcd module is working without actually connecting to a uc.
thanks in advance,
C

if you apply 5v you should see black squares where the letters should be.if you can see that it is probably working ok

The idea given by Mr. bbarney is not a fool proof. After applying power it will show squares it right but may be it will not function properly if we try to drive by micro. Or it has some manafacturing diffect which we can see after driving by micro. So it is good to test by micro.

Agrreed with BBarney testing idea but you must adjust the contrast level of
LCD pin 3 if is standard Hitachi type
