how to design a over-sampling filter to reduce quantium noise in the process of DA converting for audio playback???can you tell me the general theory about it??and what useful book i can refer to ????

It is known that the minimum sample rate necessary to reconstruct a signal is the Niquisty rate which must be greater than 2 times the maximum frequency of a bandlimited signal, oversampling improve the quantization estimation and reduces the the constrains in the antiimage filter. The transition band is the crcial point here, for a filter with lower sampling frequency the curvature is more severe than for a higher sampling frequency.

The book Digital Signal Processing a Practical Aproach by Ifeachor has a entire chapter devoted to multirate digital signal processing, in spite of this book is not good in the general sense of neither detailing topics nor given a practical aprroach as the title sugest.
