I would like to ask for help from someone who knows their way around an icd2 clone. Here are the error messages displayed in mplab:

Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
...Connected
ICDWarn0031: MPLAB ICD 2 contains the incorrect operating system for the selected device. Would you like to download the correct operating system?
Setting Vdd source to target
ICD0152: Failed to read all of requested bytes (0x1 of 0x8)
ICD0082: Failed MPLAB ICD 2 operation
...Reading ICD Product ID
ICD0024: Failed to write to Com Port (<Unknown>) (MPLABCOM = 0x0) (USBCOM = 0x0) (0x461)
ICD0082: Failed MPLAB ICD 2 operation
Running ICD Self Test
ICD0082: Failed MPLAB ICD 2 operation
MPLAB ICD 2 Ready

I am already using the no FIFO USART, hardware flow control settings for the com port. I have tried connecting the target processor yet the errors are still the same.

Manually selecting Download OS also resulted to the same error. When selecting settings - power tab, i can see the current Vpp, Vdd etc. However clicking the update button fails to update the readings. Run ICD self test also fails.

I have read in some other message boards that ICD0152 error means a serial port connection problem. I have already checked the circuit and can detect no wiring problem. One message that i read suggested that using a low setting for FIFO buffer may help, i have tried that and it did not work too.

Can somebody help me? I really needed to be able to make this icd2 work for use in my thesis. Thanks!
