ESL Methodology comes under system Level Modeling. COware is extensively working on the same
 

ESL Design methadology deals with combating the system level challenges when designing an SOC.Since in SOCs lot IP and diffrent types(logic,memory, stc) are used ESL simplifies the process of integrating different blocks by modellng them which is done at high level.Even the hardware and software partitioning is done in the methaodology.

There are companies offering EDA tools like COWARE(www.coware.com) ,Summit Designs(www.sd.com) and all 3 big guns also have their tools.

You get lot of information in the websites.
