Dear All,
I want to implement a multiplier, but I don't know which multiplier is better for cost sensitivity. Could you tell me the related algorithm by your consideration?
Thanks a lot.

hi
what do you do with multiplier? this real question.
in the communication for multiply the carrierand message the MC1496 is very low cost. but dynamic range is small.
for high dynamic range the papular multiplier is AD633. that is low cost and can xproduce (XY+Z)/10
if ypu can specify your application I can guidance you.

For a fast multiplier ,use Radix-4 partial product generator and CSA adders..

It depends on the latency allowed. The most area efficient multiplier is shift add multiplier. But it takes many cycles to get the output.

I think you can use booth multiplier.

I used AD633 ( in AM tx) and the used the formula to find component values
BUT now the IC is not available if I want to replace it by MC1496 what should I change is there a formula?

nemolee, do you want an analog multiplier or a digital multiplier?
