pic16f84 circuit

i need a test circuit for pic16f84a, i found so many ones but only for the pic16f84 .
i don't know if they are suitable or not .

Put your PIC16F84A into a breadboard, connect LEDs to the ports, now you have a test circuit.

Hai

Open the datasheet of PIC16F84,
Arrange a breadboard and components,
Give VCC and VSS to pins mentioned there,
Connect a 4 mhz Xtal to osc1 and osc2 pins
Connect 2 22Pf caps from OSC1 And OSC2 to GND.
Connect A led + to RB0 (Datasheet) and Connect the other pin of led to gnd through 330 ohm resistor.
Now open MPLAB ,write a small programe to light or flash pin RB0 led.
Construct a simple JDM or similer programmer and programe and test this pic.

thanks, but i still have one more question :
i want to start any project using pic16f84a, i have some projects for the 16f84 (without A) . can the 16f84a work with the same code ?

Hi firemaker,

The A stands for a updated version. Everything else is the same ( code, pin, options )... So dont worry, just use it.

shall i program the 16f84a directly without changing the configurations ( oscillator,WDT,PWRT or CP ) ?

there are plenty of schematic, sample program you can found it in google since pic16f84a is the most popular mcu nowaday

Hi,

Yes. Just think of it as the same MCU. Be sure to downlaod the last Datasheet from the website.
