Hi Everyone,
I am struggling with using the Floorplanning tools in Layout XL to automatically place my IO cells. I have created a very simple schematic and layout cell in which I have instantiated 4 IOs - VDD, VSS, DVDD, and DVSS. The cells have been provided by ARM and are intended for use with this cmrf8sf technology.
After successfully using the "IO Row Create" Function, I then try to use the "IO Placer" and receive the following error:
-
*WARNING* VFP-1027: Failed to invoke IO PAD Placer because no PAD instances in the design.
-
I am assuming that this means the software does not see my cells as the required "PAD" type. Looking at the instance property editor for each cell, I see that the "Celltype" is grayed out and labeled "none". My best guess is that this is the property that needs to be changed, but I do not know how to do this.
Any advice? I'd rather not have to place all of my IOs manually to prevent human error when lining up the power rings.
Please let me know if any more information is necessary!
