Hello to you all,

Please I need a gas solenoid valve that can be used to regulate heat for cooking. I am interfacing it with a microcontroller, so a 5V to 12V DC device is good.

I would be much grateful if you point me to suitable products I can order online.

I searched this forum and Google with no positive result.

Thanks in advance.

"Regulator" seems to refer to a proportional solenoid valve. I find many references with this keywords. Unfortunately they are quite expensive.

Yes, what I need is the proportional type. I'm not looking for an off-the-shelf pre-programmed device with in-built features, display, etc. What I need is a "bare-bone" valve that I can interface with a microcontroller to control the heating process.
Pleas can you point me to some of the suitable options you have found?

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

Proportional valves are made by most major valve manufacturers, in various sizes. Orifice size according to the intended flow range, medium viscosity and pressure is the first selection criterion.

Secondly there are different control options. In industrial automation, proportional valves are often operated with a manufacturer provided electronic unit and controlled by standard signals 0-10V or 0-20 mA. Alternatively you'll drive the solenoid coil directly with a variable voltage or current.

That might be a good application for a PWM servo and a mechanical valve. And maybe an on-off solenoid valve as a fail-safe mechanism.
