Hello

Ive had a 6 year break from doing FPGA work and am now faced with designing a very complex system for a project so I need a faily rapid education on everything from FPGA basics to designing robust digital systems.

Ideally I would like a single comprehensive book on VHDL
and a single comprehensive book on digial system design

Could anybody recommend any particularly good titles?

I would really appreciate any guidance!

Best regards
Jamie

FPGA need general skill on digital or LSI design using Verilog or VHDL.
The rest of thing depend on FPGA vendor.
Ussually, the vendors provide a set of tools allow you to handle any supported features.
Just go on the site/forum of FPGA vendor ( Alteral, Xilinx ... ) and follow thier guidances.
Once you got stuck with an IP, steps of tool, just read thier document or post question on the forum.
There is no book better than sitting down with samples....
That's my way to study FPGA.

You can also refer to "The Designer's Guide to VHDL" by Peter J. Ashenden - Jim Lewis for refreshing VHDL.
