Hi i did layout of an solely analog circuit using cadence. I also did digital layout (which was much automated) using Encounter tool. But how is mixed signal layout done when both the IC has analog and digital blocks. Like what is the procedure. Can anyone kindly explain this to me pls??? Thank you!!!

basically there are two models,1, AOT(analog on top),make digital as a block, after gds export gds from Encouter and strem gds in the virtuoso, and then connect lines manually.2 DOP(digital on top) abstract the analog blocks'lef ,send them to encounter, and then pr,then merge the gds.

Thank you for the reply! For a pure analog design i used cadence virtuoso to do the LVS check where both the circuit and layout is compared.
But now for a mixed signal design say i finish the digital layout and export it to cadence to do my analog layout (like AOT method). since the schematic of a digital design comprises of so many gates it would be hard to manually draw the digital circuit in cadence virtuoso. For a purely digital design we get the gate level schematic in synopsys tool. But for a mixed signal design how can i merge both the analog and digital schematics too (aside from merging the layout files) ? Can you pls let me know! Thanks :)
