Hi,

Is it possible to locate a component by defining the X and Y co-ordinates in allegro.

yes

1) edit->move

2) " on the option tab on your RHS " select one of 4 options for "point"
i) Sym Origin
ii) Body Center
iii) User Pick
iV) Sym Pin #

3) now click on your component

4) at the command prompt on bottom of screen ... type in the coordinates

command> x 100 y 200

5) click "enter" on keyboard
