regulated power supply 2 transistor model

why in a 2 transistor model regulated power supply , the voltage divider resistance(R1+R2) should be kept high ?
 

I'll have to wear my psychic booster helmet to answer this one, I'm having difficulty reading the weak photons from your schematic over such a long distance.

why the resistance R1+R2 should be high for better efficiency ... i mean if the ratio of R2 and R1 is in the ratio of 2:1 then why it is better to rake r2 as 2k and r1 as 1k instead of 200 ohm and 100 ohm respectively.......

The reason why higher values are suggested in that schematic is simply so that less current is wasted. Some output current flows directly through the resistors to ground so if you use unreasonably low values you sink the current for no reason and just generate heat in them. However, if you use values too high, you will restrict the base current in Q1 and it will no longer stabilize the voltage. The values are not critical (although their ratios are!) and ideally should be chosen so they are low enough to allow Q1 sufficient base current, with a safety margin, but not much bigger.
