Hello,

I'm doing some research for a new project and I would like to pick your brain.

The project is based on cars that use Flexray.
I need to change some messages that passes through on the fly. To do so I would need to cut the wires of the flexray and connect both sides of the wires to a board. On that board I would retransmit all messages to the other side. But some particular messages would need to be modified on the fly.

I have been doing this for a few years now with CAN bus, but now that Flexray is more present in cars I would like to see if it is possible to do such thing.

I usually connect my board between the ECU and the Steering wheel so all messages going to and from the Steering wheel are potentially modifiable by the board.

I know that Flexray is time dependent but since I would grab all messages to re-transmit them again I would also be able to "update" the time information and don't trigger any errors on the car?

I'm currently designing the hardware using a NXP LPC1769 connected to 2 Flexray transceivers TJA1082. But before I get it manufactured I would like to make sure that it is feasible and that I'm using the right components....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
