Hi I need to find a SOT-23 5v (USB) to 3.3v regulator.
LM3480 is available on ebay but a little expensive.
My project will not draw more than 5mA or so (simple mcu project)
Ebay is my only source as others will require large quantities.
Any other regulator options to consider in this package?

you can try MCP1700. Lot of voltage options are available.

Would you be willing to use shunt regulators?

I do not care as long as it is sot-23 and steps down the voltage to 3.3v.
I think it can be done using a few diodes in series as well, but I prefer the IC solution.
