Hey any one know how to connect printer to wavecom and also information regarding at commands for serial communication between printer and wevecom q2686.

Appreciate in advance

Yeah this printer support data communication interface which is supported by wavecom2686,as per this datasheet.

I believe, you didn't clearly tell what you want to achieve.

Surely a serial printer can be connected to the modem. But the printer won't issue AT commands on it's own, isn't it? So which system is expected to send AT commands to the modem and data to the printer?

Several options:

- there's a third serial device which hasn't been yet mentioned
- you want to print data through switched circuit connection from a remote computer
- you want to run an application on the modem CPU, using the "open AT" programming toolchain

yashwanth_ks. Can you brief about what you want to achieve?

thank you for replying my thread:smile:

i need to run an application on the modem using open AT programming..
i just need to know how to connect a printer to modem(means i am using UART2 for this connection so, is that enough to connect RX,TX and GND?) and also i need a basic open AT program to send a data.

is that enough to connect RX,TX and GND
Should basically work. Providing optional handshake signals (RTS/CTS) won't hurt.

I'm not using Wavecom or even Open AT, but I would expect example programs provided with the toolkit, or available from Wavecom on request.

yeah i used basic programs given in toolkit still it's not working. it's okay sir thank you for your reply. may some other help me to come out of this problem. :)

Hi yashwanth,

try communication with your module via uart so that you can get the idea about how your module responds and later implement the same using your microcontroller.

Good luck

Sir thank you for your reply :)

am using a modem called wavecom q2686.

The Q2686 series is a self-contained E-GSM/GPRS 900/1800 and 850/1900 quad-band Wireless CPU.
And this is an arm processor too. so i can't check it separately.

any one know about how to implement FCM (flow control manager) using c for wavecom q2686 modem?

which printer are you going to control?
Can you share generic block diagram between microcontroller and printer
