i got problem using ic555 with relay. my connection of the circuit is as:
pin 1: direct to negative
pin2: direct to 6, capacitor 1 (100uF) to negative, resistor 2(22K ohms) to pin 7
pin3: relayto negative
pin4: direct to positive
pin5: 0.01 uF capacitor to negative
pin6: should already be directly connected to pin2
pin7: resistor 1 (100K ohms) to positive
pin8: direct connect to positive

how can i make the relay function? im using 9v battery as power.
and can someone just debug the problem?.
thanks.

You should see the input voltage of the relay.
If it is of 9V, your problem is solved, you can connect one terminal to one end, and the second terminal to the GND.

The relay, functions, after a pulse is given at one of its terminals.
You should connect the output of the 555 timer, to its input.

With a 9V supply (a 9V battery drops to 6V over its life) the pin 3 output of a 555 goes only to +7.6V which is not enough voltage for the 12V relay coil.

If the simulation doesn't work. Then you have to change the Vcc to 12V and you cant use a relay with that part number from the library. Instead use "RELAY" with "Active animation model" . Then you can see the movement of the contacts.
