difference between x2 capacitor and rc snubber

can i use a x2 capacitor to prevent relay contact sticking are i must use rc snubber only, then where to use x2 capacitor

Hi,

You will find this pdf gives a lot of good information on using the right device to protect the relay contacts; it all depends on the type of load the relay is controlling, resistive or inductive. ( see page 8 )

There are other devices you can use alongside or in place of such as Varistors.

Equally important, if not already fitted, is a diode across the relay coil.
