Hi,
I'm trying to make a simple programmer to program PICs especially for 16f887. I found JDM programmer Like this:
pic_prog_sch.gif
for 16F84, assembled it once or twice with 16F54 with PICPgm It gave message successfully programed or verified and then "verification failed" error started to appear.
I also found this some ware

Now I'm wondering that if we supply Vpp MCLR and Ground from external supply and make ground common, we'll not need much circuitry to program but I don't know which that with which pins of serial port Clock an data pins should be connected

I also noted that for hardware menu of PICPgm pins number of serial port for different pins of Pic Like clock ,data etc. can be changed , does this mean we can use any of Serial port pin to transfer hex to Pic?

Thanks.
