hi friends!
i m using l298 to drive 24v dc motor. when i give one second forward and reverse pulse to motor continuesly..l298 become hot. can i apply fast switching to l298? for my application i want switching in miliseconds.help me.

To change direction the INx pin values are reversed but there is no meaning in changing the direction too fast because the motor doesn't have breaking so it takes time to stop and then move in reverse direction. If you want to control speed of motor then you have to give direction signals to INx pins and PWM to ENx pins.

i want to rotate motor almost 180 to 200 degree back and forth at high speed(around 750RPM i need for my application).Torque is not a problem.i am trying dc motor. can i get this with dc motor? or i should try another way?

If you want angular rotation then you have to use stepper or servo motors. Servo motors rotate like 0 to 90, 90 to 0, 0 to -90, 90 to 180...

It doesn't rotate continuously like DC motor. If you use DC motor then you will have problem with accurate angular rotation.

yes sir u r right.but angle accuracy is not required.any angle from 180 to 210 is acceptable.
i am totally confused which motor i should choose. dc is continuous motor, but for fast back and forth operation driver is a problem. i read something like micro stepping for stepper motor, but not having proper implementation knowledge.u can see the application i want to design on below link.help me.

Actually Speed of Acceleration and Deceleration depend on pulse stream of L297 and L298 stepper motor driver .

i think u read below link and create small project with your micro and test
https://picprog.strongedge.net/step_prof/step-profile.html

and then after post your code if u find any problem bro.....
