verilog text editor

How to change Verilog-A text editor in Cadence from vi (default) to smth else, e.g. emacs?

cadence text editor

In .cdsenv file (placed in your home directory) search for vi
You will find first on:
schematic invokeKanjiEditor string "kterm -km euc -e vi"
Change vi with emacs or smsg else.

I haven't installed verilog, but I think that is the same like for schematic :
verilog .....................................................................vi"

There is also an interface for this, but I don't remember how to access it.
Depeds from Cadence version.

Be creative.

You may set EDITOR environment variable in the shell profile. ( .cshrc for csh). The text editor useb by Cadence may also be set int the '.cdsinit' file or .Xdefaults.
