Dear all,

I am using the MT41J256M16RE-15EIT:D DDR3, but I cannot know how many ranks and how many chips / DDR or chips/ rank are there
from the data sheet. What I have calculated my self is that it has only one chipe which has 8 banks and that chip itself is 4GB (size of DDR3).

Is it possible to have only 1 rank and 1 chip in DDR3

I have also attached the data sheet if someone wants to refer to answerView attachment MT41J256M16RE-15EITD.pdf

Hi What is ur memory requirement? Now days single chips are available up to 8Gb..Attached data sheet is a single chip which support 4Gb memory..

Thank you for your question..

I have several questions. I hope you answer the one you can.

1. Can we make 1GB memory out of it with MIG design.
2. Is the User Interface in the DDR3 controller the FIFO design. I actually want to save data for good (of course unless power is ON). I dont want to
use the FIFO design.

others as well. but later

Bests,
Shan

Yes we can make.If you are planing to use 4Gb chip and 32 bit data bus then u have to use two such devices...before proceeding in to the actual design u can try generating core for DDR3 using MIG.

Also check weather the selected FPGA supports DDR3 or not...
