Next-Generation Standard Layout Viewer

LAVIS is a next generation layout viewer to support large scale data, super high-speed display and multi format. With LSI designs becoming increasingly detailed, the volume of design data is rapidly expanding. Speeding up data display and standardizing data viewers are therefore major issues for shortening the design process.

LAVIS employs innovative methods for its display and memory control, thus enabling efficient inputting and displaying of large data. In addition, it also functions as a standard viewer for common use throughout the entire design process such as supporting a mask image drawing device format and enabling connections with verification tools.

By using a standardized layout viewer, LAVIS, it is possible to shorten the development cycle significantly.

Handling large scale data
LAVIS is able to handle 64bit address/large file, and it is applicable to large amount of data over 2GB.

Superspeed/High efficiency
LAVIS has high-speed display system, and the user will not be stressed when handling large amount of data.
And an efficient memory control system allows the operation with the minimum memory for large amount of data.

Multi-format
LAVIS supports GDSII (Stream Format) and it is also applicable to various design data such as EB file with Plug-in SDK.

Format

Multi-platform
LAVIS provides equal operability in both EWS and PC environments.

Platform

Multi-window
LAVIS has various display function; display of the same data in multi-window, display of more than one data in multi-window, layered display of more than one data in the same window and so on.

LAVIS does look like a nice tool, but you know its expensive when you have to talk to a sales rep to get any pricing information.

If you are looking for a free GDS viewer, try StreamVista from Semigy Designs. It runs on Windows and can be downloaded at www.semigy.com.

free mebes data viewer

Actually, I still prefer SOCGDS from dolphin because it includes a skill routine to generate layers colors, patterns and frames file from Cadence. :rainbow1:
So I can have the same view as in Cadence (but on windows and without streamin), which is the reference for layout design.
