hi im new in audio stuff.

i have generate a 6 channels sound wave using this genwav6 software. i play the sound i generated and recorded using the window sound recorded. what i get from the sound recorder is just stereo (2 channels).
so my question:
can the pc play 6 channels wave file?
how can i record all the 6 channels wave file that i had generated.

thanks

What to explain wav files examples???

You must have PC with multichannel sound card, that is needed for this (5.1 6.1 7.1 8.1 ....), second you need to configure in OS setting of your sound card and speakers to that channel, and finaly you must have multichannel player and multichannel sound material.

My friend you cannot record multichannel sound over windows sound recorder one channel. 8-O

You can use some good software for sound editing like SoundForge or similar.

There is no mistique in this.

With Sound Forge Pro 10 software, you can record multichannel audio when using multichannel sound devices. Each audio stream can set to a particular channel, and be edited in the Sound Forge interface just like a stereo file.

Scenarios where you could use Sound Forge Pro 10 software for multichannel recording include:

Using surround microphones and preamps for recording in multichannel configurations
Legal recording and transcription
Recording audio for a multichannel surround sound environment in real time, including Foley work and individual instruments
5.1 multichannel recordings for television and other broadcast formats
Recording and preparing files for use on surround sound DVDs
Recording multichannel audio streams from streaming content such as multichannel .wma files
Recording multiple sources simultaneously, including voice, telephone, radio station, or other sound sources
Recording for video game developers for delivery in multichannel format

Run software for your sound card, you have icon on desktop or in control panel, and certenly in start menu in applications. Try there to reconfigure channels, and make several input channels for mic or other devices.

btw, does window media player support multichannel sound ?

u hvnt answer my question just nw bro tpetar.
does the sound recorded provide by the window can record multichannel sound i play using the window media player?

I answer it earlier, what I know sound recorder in windows dont support multichannel recording, but you can record channel by channel separately.

Windows Media Player support playing multichannel material.

one more question . what the function of the foobar player with plugin WASAPI

bro, can a stereo speaker play a 6 channel sound?

Of course not its stereo, that means two, mono means one, and six is six.

But, you can have some plugin for player or some reproducing software which will mix all channels and reproduce that material on stereo speakers, but then this is not six channels, its just stereo material.

bro. now i had play the sound wave i generated. i use protocol analyser to analy the bit stream to the speaker. lets say i play the sound certain volume at first. then i change the volume and play the same sound wave again. any idea how to check which bit is responsible for the change of the volume?
how is the bit stream of the soundwave organized?

thanks

SoundForge. You can also compare spectral views of different sections of one file, or compare multiple files simultaneously.
