hi, this is a cool forum for professionals, hobbiests and students. there should be a space for career consultancy. many of the people want to ask about their future studies. like me;
i am an electronic engineer. want to study in usa for my M.S
i wana ask if any one know what wil be suitable for me.
i have studied following major courses:
POWER ELECTRONICS
CONTROL SYSTEMS(I LIKE IT)
AUTOCAD(ITS THE BEST COURSE I LIKE THE MOST, PLEASE TELL ME WHICH FIELD SHOULD I TAKE WHERE THESE KIND OF THINGS ARE MOST TAUGHT. PRO ENGINEER, SOLID WORKS , AUTOCAD.)
ANTENNA DESIGNING(SINCE IT ALSO REQUIRES DESIGNING FOR EXAMPLE IN HFSS, or FEKO etc. so i liked it too. )
VLSI
IMAGE PROCESSING
COMPUTER NETWORKS(DEMO VERSION OF CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR(CCNA))

till now you know what i am interested in. i love to work on cad designing tools. so i was wondering if any one could tell me what is better to take as a major course in masters program. i was thinking about MECHATRONICS. since i am an electronics engineer and want to work on many of cad designing tools. will it be feasible for me. also tell me the scope of the cad designing tools in industry for job perspective.
thanks in advance.

Heya there. During uni, I worked with Pro-D and Pro-Engineer but after graduation I realised most professionals use AutoCad. Its not hard to learn autocad if you have worked with any CAD software before.

As a masters student I can suggest to focus more on individual projects than subject areas. Usually masters degree is a year long RESEARCH work where you dont have any classes or lectures. You are your own boss but you do get firing from you supervisor once in a while :p . Go talk (maybe over the phone/skype if you arent in the same country) to the lecturers offering masters project. Talk to them about you interest in CAD and they might come up with a new project for you or assign you an existing one.

Good luck !
