Svideo to RCA - does anybody have an data?

Svideo to RCA

I have a XFX video board (Nvidia FX 5200 TV-Out ). I need to made a converter s-video to RCA. I have buy the converter in a cable store, but it does not work. Anybody have any data?

If you are here i assume that you have some technical background ??? Do you have a scope .. well if you do .. see what is comming out ...Otherwise get a scope .. !

You don’t need any experience to build this adaptor.

Just connect pins 1 and 2 of the S-video connector to the ground and pins 3 and 4 to the central of RCA connector (composite video). In series with pin 4 you have to add a 470pF capacitor.
Be sure that your video output of your video card is still alive. Sometimes the videocard TV-out dies when is connected to a TV-AV input.
Beware when you make the connection between PC and TV, both devices shall be shut-off from the main power (un-plugged).

thank you for your posts.
I know the classical solution for S-video to RCA connection. And, yas I have technical background (I am an engineer).
However, the problem remains. So, I wrote this post thinking that (maybe) this problem is often suffered by XFX video boards and somebody knows how to solve it.

Maybe you need additional bias in video input. As a rule this bias is 2-3V. Use capacitor 470 MF and resistive divider to get it.
