Hi guys,

I need you guys expert advice.
I'm new to vhdl language.
My project is to make a musical score generator using VHDL. It will be implemented on a DE2 board, altera.
The idea is, when a key/tone is played and the DE2 boards picks up the sound and generate the appropriate musical score.
Can anyone help me out with this.
Please. Thanks.
take care

Hi,

You will have to give much more info about your project and your hardware.

Also, please be more specific about where you're stuck.

Hi, erm, the idea of this project is whenever a key on a piano is played, e.g C . The hardware which is DE2 board, will then record the noise and will be able to identify which key is played and the musical score is generated and displayed onto the screen.
i am basically stuck on how to do the signal processing site, how do i write it in VHDL.
i am clueless.
please advice.
thank you.

I suggest picking up a VHDL tutorial and Text book to learn VHDL. Come back here when you've made a start on the code and are having problems.
