Hallo!

I've following task in cadence: I want to find a design flow using tools which are actuall (and will be supported in future). But I've only lx86 tools since I've no sun. Therefore I can't make use of scripts for silicon ensemble since it isn't supported in linux (or I'm wrong). So I've find other design flows but there are so many tools!! Also I've heard for instance that the pks tool won't be supported in future and so on. Hence I'm very confused. But I need a flow for my mixed signal designs.
Therefore, which tool should I use?

synth: buildgates (is there a more efficient and better synth tool in cadence?)

place&route: pks (no support in future),? which linux tool?

Route: nanoroute, my foundary also support ic craftsman (but a friend told me that it is not to be recommended

what are the other tools for: encounter, or the others in the soc or spr packages?

for fontend: C@dence RTL Compiler, but I don't think it can do better than DC :)
for backend: S0C Enc0unter.

BTW: All these tools has been integerated in the S0C41. So, you can do all synthesis, floorplan, place, route, ECO, CTS in the S0C41. Most part of the S0C41 can run under linux. :)

I'm wrigth that autorouting isn't well supported in SOC41. I'm still waiting for C@dence shipping me this release.
What's the role of iccraft in the context of design flow? Why do so many tools exist in C@dence with the same task?
Is C@dence RTL Compiler involved in build_g@te?

N@noroute has been integrated in the S0C41. It seems that the C@dence RTL Compiler is buy from Get2Chip. Use a new technology, named "Global Foused Synthesis".

Anyone has experience in Cadence RTL Compiler ?

For eda4you

ICC it came out on the market about 8-9 years ago. I was at the time supposed to evaluate it. it is supposed to do analog/mixed signal routing but it takes a long time to set-up all the constraints . You can't use it for full custom layout..it's much slower than a good layouter
