Hi,

I have to build an embedded ethernet device that can send data at 7Mbps. Please recommend a solution.
I am considering Microchip's PIC32 Ethernet Starter Kit (Part Number: DM320004) as a start. My idea is to use Microchip's available TCP/IP stack. Will this starter kit be able to support this data rate? If not please suggest other alternates.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Microchip is the right move. I had worked with 18F97J60 Ethernet controller with in-built TCP/ IP Stack in it.
It will support upto 10 Mbps. You can try this.

You can also go for Ethernet controller EN28J60 Standalone Ethernet controller. But in this case, you have to build your own stack.

TCP and IP protocol level has to be implemented in software with 18F97J60, e.g. using the Microchip protocol stack. It incorporates a MAC level ethernet controller as most ethernet controllers are. You have built-in TCP/IP stack with Wiznet controllers.

Yes. Microchip will provide all Protocol stack which we can use this readymade.
