Hello,

I have a question about the HREADYOUT signal of an AMBA AHB slave:
Is it allowable for the slave to drive the HREADYOUT signal low (HREADY <= '0') when it's not being addressed by any master?
Or must it assert an HREADYOUT <= '1' when it's not being addressed.

This is strictly a protocol compliance question - this would dictate the default state machine value for the HREADYOUT signal.
Or in other words - the HREADYOUT value at the "idle_state" of the FSM.

Does anyone know the answer?
Do the specs dictate such a value? or it's up to the designer to decide?

Can anyone answer my simple question?

Can anyone answer my simple question?
Default value of hready in the idle state of the fsm has to be 1 and hresp must be set to ok.
From the starting of the next state(ie read or write state)the slave should set hready to 0 and hresp is still ok
Again In the transfer state the slave will make the hready to high.

dll_fpga, i did n't get your point. Shaiku did you get it? If so, can you explain it to me as well. I am also unclear about HREADY and HREADYOUT signals

hready signal is the only signasl based on which master changes the address and control signals ....so the default value has to be 1....so that first transfer can be initiated by the master upon reset...hope u got
