lib dspic30 lcd c30

I'm learning to program dspic code picdem starter kit with MPLAB C30. Anyone know/have basic samples code links?

which board do you have? I also intended to buy a dspic board. is it worth to buy or is it better to make a custom board?

Buy it.
It has the value for the price you pay. I bought the contest kit. There are a lot on the board. Two RS232 (one of it could be configured as RS485), 1 CAN port, temperature to voltage sensor, digital potentiometer, voice CODEC, 122x32 dot matrix LCD & etc. And it's U$139 instead of regular price U$299.

From what I own, (1)PICDEM2+ for PIC18 series. (2)dsPICDEM contest kit, Microchip only give the samples code in assembly. I never have any code that are written in C18/C30. You have to look at somewhere else.

Perhaps this is the main purpose of design contest by Microchip. I expect there will be ton of application notes published after the contest.

I have found the dsPIC starter kit, this a low cost board (90€ aprox from Sagitron in SPain, worthwhile). This board contain a 64TQFP dsPIC30F6012 serial port, 4 Leds button and analog circuitry to (OP amp, Digital potentiometer...).

I have many years working with CCS compiler above PIC16-18. I'm never worked with Microchip compilers. And now I'm trying to program with MPLAB C30 compiler and ICD2 but I haven't seen any demo programs. I'm very interested to work with dsp library in order to real time implementations (fft, digital filters FIR...)

will CCS release a compiler for dsPICs? is mplab c30 only compiler for dsPIC today?

It exist now from 3rd party. One I know is IAR.

Now, ccs pic c can't compile dsPic . from 3rd party is IAR , HITECH can compile

 .

I think C30 is a good choice especially when Microchip offer 60-day trial version.

Which one is more prefarable; microchip c compiler or hitech c compiler?

Hard to answer that since I don't know HI-TECH.

But I think C30 is really great if compare to C18. I ever read someone compared C18 & Hi-TECH C. I think they have both good & bad points.
