I am trying to drive the IRF630 from remote tester circuit. I removed the ac mains circuit and connected the pulse (LED Blink) to the Gate of IRF 630 and tried drive a motor at 12 volts from a battery. but on connecting the motor to the drain and positive the motor started working despite the remote tester wasnt in use. i have a question whether the mosfet is bad or the drive is wrong..
kindly help.
Thanks.

Hi,
It might be faulty drive or bad MOSFET. Remove gate signal and observe.
Add a 1k resistor from gate to source, then observe.
If after gate signal is removed and the 1k resistor connected, the MOSFET still is on, then, it's likely a bad MOSFET.

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.
