hello sir,
please help us... how to connect dtmf decoder and mobile phone & microcontroller

1. To connect the mobile phone to a microcontroller, you need to have the mobile data cable (USB or Serial). Then, cut the cable to remove the integrated MAX232 IC inside the cable and finally, connect the TXD, RXD and, the GND to your controller.
2. To connect the DTMF decoder to the mobile phone, connect the data bus (Q1-Q4) and the control signals (OE, StD) to your controller.

Hope this helps.

1. To connect mobile phone to a microcontroller and when mobile has USB cable, will it still have MAX232? If it doesn't have it, just USB cable is not going to have TXD and RXD. Its just going to have USB D+ and D-.

In that case, will you actually need external MAX232 based converter to connect to microcontroller?

2. How would the output of mobile USB go as input to DTMF? Do you recommend opening up USB cable (cut open) and give D+ and D- to IN+ and IN- of DTMF decoder?

Thanks in advance.
