Hi all,

I have to do feature extraction by using MFCC for my wav. data. But I am stuck at the beginning:cry: My questions would be silly and I apologize at the beginning for that.
So firstly I want to do frame blocking and then for each frame i will apply hamming window. I dont know about the points....
When I use matlab command, [y, fs] = wavread('trial.wav')
I get y= <400896x1 double> and fs= 22050
Does that mean, y has totally 400896 number of points and sample points for each second equals to 22050??

For frame blocking, should i have 441 frames if i want 0.02 sec between each frame (22050*0.02=441)? or should i consider all of the signal, 400896?
I really dont get it, how would i decide and apply the framing? And i didnt really understand the logic of framing. How would i implement it?

I am really confused and need help:sad:
